Registration and tuition fees should be transferred to the University bank account after the candidates have received a confirmation of admission from the International Students Office (for Bachelor and Master programmes) and the Dean of the relevant faculty (for doctoral studies).

The tuition fees do not cover room or board.

Additional information concerning doctoral studies and research stays:

It is possible to conduct a doctoral procedure (dissertation, examinations, defence) outside of a doctoral programme. The fee for a doctoral procedure amounts to 2,000 EUR (no reduction applies). Enquiries should be directed to the Director of doctoral studies (RTF 19KB) of the relevant faculty.

It is possible to conduct a habilitation procedure (dissertation, habilitation colloqium) outside of a habilitation research stay. The fee for the habilitation procedure amounts to 3,000 EUR (no reduction applies). For more information please contact the International Relations Office of the Jagiellonian University.

If the research period is shorter than an academic year the fee is paid for each month of stay.

Fees for programmes in foreign languages

Full programmes in foreign languages leading to a degree are usually fee-paying for all students. Non-degree programmes are fee-paying for all students except exchange students (e.g. ERASMUS). Exemptions, reductions and waivers

Foreign citizens with dual citizenship (including Polish) or a Polish permanent residence card are treated as Polish citizens (exempt from paying tuition fees for regular studies in Polish).

Since 1 May 2004, EU citizens are also treated as Polish citizens (exempt from paying tuition fees for regular studies in Polish). However, they are not entitled to doctoral scholarships or social financial aid given to some Polish students.

Holders of the Polish Government Scholarship, other government scholarships or scholarships granted by other institutions are exempt from paying tuition fees. To find out how to apply for a Polish Government Scholarship, please see the next subsection of this website.

Students sent by partner universities within bilateral exchange programmes and exchange students with an ERASMUS (or other EU) scholarship are exampt from paying tuition fees for studies in Polish as well as for non-degree programmes in foreign languages.

Students entering as foreign non-EU citizens with Polish background have a 30% reduction off tuition fees. Proof (e.g. a certificate from the Polish Embassy or Consulate in the country of residence) will be required.

Requests to waive the fees for reasons other than the above-mentioned should be submitted to the following University authorities:
Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations (Bachelor and Master studies) or
Vice-Rector for Personnel and Financial Policy and the Dean of the respective Faculty (for doctoral studies).
