ACCREDITATION AND ECTS

Recognition of courses between the host and the sending institutions is an indispensable condition of student mobility. Comparison of courses taught at universities in different countries was made possible by introduction of the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

The ECTS credits correspond to the time spent at class or studying at home required to complete the given course. Usually, a certain number of ECTS credits is needed to complete the whole year or semester. Therefore, the sending university is able to evaluate the work of its students while studying abroad.

A defined number of ECTS credits is attributed to every course. It is provided within the course description. A list of courses and their ECTS value are available at the respective faculties.
