POLISH LANGUAGE COURSE FOR FOREIGNERS STUDYING IN DEGREE AND POST-GRADUATE PROGRAMS AT KRAKÓW`S INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION Each semester, the Center for Polish Language and Culture in the World organizes Polish language courses for foreigners studying at Kraków’s institutions of higher education, as well as for foreign post-graduates and doctoral students. The classes take place at three levels of advancement: basic (A1, A2), 6 hours per week, 90 academic hours per semester; upon this level the student receives 6 credits in the ECTS system, intermediate (B1, B2), 4 hours per week, 60 academic hours per semester; upon this level the student receives 4 credits in the ECTS system, and advanced (C1, C2), 2 hours per week, 30 academic hours per semester; upon this level the student receives 2 credits in the ECTS system.For people from the Jagiellonian University, participation in the course is free of charge. Rates for participants from outside of the Jagiellonian University, for the academic year 2008/2009, are 720 złoty for students at level A1, A2; 480 złoty for students at level B1, B2; and 240 złoty for students at level C1, C2. The course fee is payable at 7a Garbarska St. at Szkoła Języka i Kultury Polskiej UJ. It is possible to place out of the Polish language course, if the given person passes the fluency exam at advanced level. The exam will be held November 21, 2008, 5 p.m. at Grodzka St. 64, room 06, in the Center for Polish Language and Culture in the World. In case of a negative grade from the exam, students will be required to participate in the class. The fee for the exam is 60 zł.
