The Jagiellonian University Scholarship Fund is a noble and unique initiative, first conceived of in 1999. So far more than 2,300 students have taken advantage of the Fund. The scholarships are granted to JU students and PhD students as well as to PhD students and academics from the Central and Eastern Europe, the former Soviet Union countries and the Balkan countries. The Fund is possible thanks to generosity and benevolence of many institutions and individuals who are concerned with the development of local academic communities and of higher education in Poland.
