Students of JU Medical College to receive modernised residence halls

The modernisation and development of residence halls for students of JU Medical College will be carried out as part of public-private partnership pursuant to the agreement concluded on 14 October 2013 in Warsaw between JU Medical College and Neoświat PPP Projects, a special purpose company owned by Bouygues industrial group. The contractor was selected in the procedure of competitive dialogue. Bouygues industrial group has a rich experience in providing services to the public sector.
The agreement was concluded in the seat of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Warsaw. JU Medical College was represented by Professor Piotr Lailder, Vice-Rector for Medical College and Mr Marcin Jędrychowki, Deputy Bursar for Medical College. Neoświat PPP Projects was represented by Gilles Leonard, Director at Bouygues Polska Development.

The meeting was chaired by Professor Barbara Kudrycka, the Minister of Science and Higher Education. Pursuant to the agreement the contractor is obliged to extensively modernise, equip, and maintain for 25 years three residence halls together with the adjacent sporting and leisure infrastructure.

Built in the 1970s, the residence halls require urgent modernisation as they no longer comply with the technical and sanitary standards. What is important, the agreement will impose no restrictions upon JU Medical College in terms of accommodation policy or fee rate control.

The first modernised hall of residence will be completed in the first quarter of 2015, whereas the whole project is to be completed in 2016.
