The UNESCO Chair in Translation Studies and Intercultural Communication of the Jagiellonian University is among the partners in the consortium which, during the years 2013-2016, is going to run the project OPENART "Contemporary Art for All", funded by the National Centre for Research and Development within the framework of the Social Innovations programme.

The project is aimed at creating an innovative multimedia guide for mobile devices that will make access to works of art easier for people with impaired hearing or vision and improve the quality of their contact with art. The project will be carried out by a consortium that involves scientific centres, museums, foundations, and other institutions.      

76 consortiums took part in the Social Innovations competition. Only 14 of them received funding.
