The scholarships were granted by the Foundation of the Polityka weekly within the framework of the action "Zostańcie z Nami" ("Stay with us"), the aim of which is to promote ambitious and nonconformist career model among young talented scholars, a model that is focused on intellect and hard work, contrary to what is promoted by pop-culture

This year, the scholarships, that is the Academic Awards of the Polityka weekly, were given to five scholars, representing five different branches of science.

In the category of social sciences the award went to Dr Marta Soniewicka, a lawyer from the Jagiellonian University, who is also writing a PhD thesis in Philosophy. She specializes in bioethics, especially as regards the so-called procreation responsibility and in the issues pertaining to the global justice.
