Prof. dr. hab. Piotr Sztompka from the Jagiellonian University was presented with the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta by the President of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski. Prof. Sztompka received the decoration for his contribution to the development of sociology and promotion of Polish science all over the world, as well as his extraordinary achievements in both teaching and research. The presentation ceremony took place on 3 May in the Royal Castle in Warsaw at the ceremony celebrating May 3rd Constitution Day.
