The members of Sejm, the Lower House of the Polish Parliament have passed an unanimous resolution commemorating the foundation of the Jagiellonian University on its 650th anniversary.

The MPs paid tribute to the intellectual achievements of many generations of JU scholars and alumni. They have also stressed the role of the University in the history of Polish an international science and culture, which is the source of pride for the future generations. The resolution states that: "the Jagiellonian University is a jewel in the treasury of the Polish nation."
