On 16 June 2014, Mr. Pierre Buhler, French Ambassador to Poland, has awarded three Poles with the Order of Academic Palms (Ordre des Palmes académiques) for their extraordinary accomplishments.

One of them was Professor Marcela Świątkowska, a distinguished specialist in the field of French Studies and linguistics, member of the Commission on Modern Philology of the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences, lecturer at many French universities (Lille, Nancy, Clermont-Ferrand, Paris), author of numerous academic papers and Polish representative in the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie.

Aside from Prof. Marcela Świątkowska, the Orders were presented to Krystyna Herzig and Robert Korzeniowski.
