DIMA 2012 in the JU Institute of Economics and Management

DIMA 2012, Digital Marketing Intensive Programme, was organised on 19-30 March by the JU Institute of Economics and Management. It gave the opportunity to over forty students, divided into multicultural teams, to work together under the supervision of academics from six countries and to design and create a unique e-venture.

The participants of the programme came up with all sorts of business ideas, designed Internet websites, marketing campaigns and proposed funding schemes for their businesses. Their efforts were evaluated by academics and the representatives of Google, Sabre and Motorola, who decided whether certain project should receive financial support or not. DIMA 2012 was an excellent occasion to develop communication skills, negotiation skills, cultural competence and to acquire knowledge of strategic management, team work, social media and e-commerce.

However, the initiative wasn't only about hard work. The DIMA 2012 participants had lots of opportunities to have fun while integrating: they experienced nightlife in Kraków as well as Polish culture and customs.  During the Official Opening Gala that took place in the Manggha Centre of Japanese Art and Technology the visitors could try dumplings, barrel cucumbers with lard bread and pretzels. In return, they prepared presentations on their own countries and universities, presented and taught their national dances and offered national delicacies.
