Brussels Innova 2014: three medals for JU inventions
Saturday, November 15 saw the completion of the BRUSSELS INNOVA 2014 fair, devoted to the technology transfer and the implementation of technological innovations. This year, the fair featured solutions from 14 countries from all over the world: Belgium, Croatia, France, Iran, Moldova, Malaysia, Morocco, Malta, Poland, Russia, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, and Italy. There were 96 inventions from Poland altogether.
The presented innovations had been entered into the EUREKA competition, during which more than 90 experts from Belgium and other countries, led by the head of the jury, Olivier Nagelmackers, evaluated the projects and awarded them with prizes and medals.
The winning solutions included three inventions from the Jagiellonian University:
- GOLD MEDAL WITH DISTINCTION for the invention New MOF-type layered coordination polymers of manganese, method of their preparation, modification and use thereof – JU Faculty of Chemistry;
- GOLD MEDAL for the invention Nanocomposite material, method for producing nanocomposite material and its application – JU Faculty of Chemistry;
- SILVER MEDAL for the invention Microemulsion consisting of an oil phase, an aqueous phase and a surfactant – JU Medical College Faculty of Pharmacy.
