From 16 to 21 November 2014 the rector of the Jagiellonian University, Prof. Wojciech Nowak and the JU Vice-Rector for the Medical College, Prof. Piotr Laidler paid a visit to the United States, where they attended a number of meetings at the American universities collaborating with the JU, including the University of California – Los Angeles (UCLA), University of California – San Diego (UCSD), University of California – Riverside (UCR), and Loma Linda University (LLU). They also discussed the prospects of future collaboration with the representatives of Stanford University. The primary aim of the whole visit was to strengthen the existing ties in the area of medical education and research between the Medical Faculties of the Jagiellonian University and the American higher education institutions, as well as consider the possibilities of extending the collaboration to include other JU faculties.

The Rectors also paid a visit to the Taube Foundation for Jewish Life & Culture, where they were received by its president, Tad Taube.
