Prof. Barbara Sosień from the Jagiellonian University, a distinguished expert in the field of French literature was awarded with the Ordre des Palmes académiques (Order of Academic Palms) for her services to French culture. Prof. Sosień is an erudite, a long-term promoter of the culture of France, a lecturer at a number of French and Italian Universities, the Polish coordinator of the European PhD programme DESE, and an author of numerous academic papers.

The Order of Academic Palms is a French honorary title conferred to distinguish the most eminent academic staff members. The presentation ceremony will be held at the beginning of 2015 in the Warsaw residence of the Ambassador of France to Poland.
