JU teams successful in the Imagine Cup 2015

Imagine Cup, Microsoft's largest technological contest in the world, is gaining more and more momentum. The Polish jury has already chosen  five best projects in each of the three categories: Games, Innovation and World Citizenship. Two teams from the Jagiellonian University will compete in the finals.

The hub of this year's edition of Imagine Cup is the Kinect technology, employed very successfully by the Polish student in their projects. As in the previous years, the Cup is co-organised by the Institute of Industrial Design, and its honorary patron is the Ministry of Economy.

Imagine Cup 2015 puts a strong emphasis on the business aspect of the students' projects. The members of every team have already participated in workshops, during which they learned how to prepare a commercialisation strategy for their projects.

Imagine Cup is the largest technology contest for students who are not afraid to turn their creative ideas into real-life technology. Nearly 2 million students from 190 countries have participated in the previous editions.

Two JU teams will participate in the finals in April. Team Stattist, authors of the Stattist.com project, will compete in the Innovation category. The project aims to create a personalised fusion of a news portal and analytic tool, which would be helpful in examining a vast amount of data and providing statistical and marketing information.

Team Vivid Dream is the second participant from the JU. Their project, Dude Wars, is a multiplayer cross-platform real time strategy game which will be focused on competitive play.
